TOTAL DANCE

      Si el buscador no me ha jugado una mala pasada, me ha sorprendido bastante que no se haya hecho referencia en el foro, al retorno doce años después, de una de las divas de la música disco: Yvette Marie Stevens alias Chaka Khan. A sus 66 años sigue en forma. Y la muestra de ello es "Hello Happiness". Una canción con una producción futurista, de la que podrían aprender muchos productores actuales. Salió el 1 de Enero, y para mí gusto, ocho meses después sigue estando entre lo mejor del año. Que mejor resumen que una frase de la letra: "take me back to the dancefloor, so I can dance away my blues".

      Hoy una joya perdida del año pasado para una noche veraniega de viernes. En este caso se trata de la islandesa Sara Pétursdóttir, más conocida musicalmente como Glowie. Una putidiva del norte de Europa. Sencilla pero elegante. Ojo porque el estribillo es tremendamente pegadizo. Espero que guste por estos lares:

      Dos por uno en joyas perdidas del año pasado. Ahora nos referimos a Pierre Edouard Hanffou alias Kiddy Smile. Este camerunés afincando en París desde su infancia, nos regaló una pieza muy bailable con clara influencia del sonido disco de los 90. El estribillo es fulminante de los que se graban desde la primera escucha. Y el videoclip totalmente acorde con la canción. El tema perfecto para un sábado noche.

      A Edyta Górniak se le recuerda por su segundo puesto en el Festival de Eurovisión de 1994. O por ser la primera en grabar "One & One", aunque luego no fuese la primera versión que se lanzó al mercado. Pero no se vive sólo del pasado. Y Edyta ha vuelto en este 2019 junto a su compatriota Gromee, regalándonos una gran canción. En este caso, un suave piano arranca un tema pop, que según van pasando los acordes se transforma en un poderoso tema electrónico. Sonido del siglo XXI.

      Vamos a por unas de las canciones más bonitas del año. Una pieza de música negra de las que suenan en programas como Funk & Show. Little Simz, es el alias de la inglesa de ascendencia nigeriana, Simbiatu Abisola Abiola Ajikawo. Con 25 años, ha tocado techo en su tercer disco, con la maravillosa "Selfish", en la que Cleo Sol interpreta perfectamente un gran estribillo:

      Johanna Ekmark, alias Winona Oak. Conocida por colaborar con los Chainsmokers, ha tocado techo este año con "Break My Broken Heart". Buena letra (Fools fallin' in the dark like crazy) acompañada de suaves sintetizadores, ilustrada en un tenebroso vídeo. Muy top.

      Lo vengo avisando desde hace tiempo. La mente incansable de Nick van Hofwegen no para de fabricar maravillas. Bajo mi punto de vista, hay que empezar a considerar a este señor como uno de los grandes productores de música electrónica de esta década. A las fascinantes Ojai o No Static, se une otra de sus piezas mas hermosas e intimistas, sin perder el apresto comercial:
