“That Power” (stylized “#ThatPower“) is a song recorded by American record producer and singer will.i.am. The track produced by himself has the collaboration of global superstar Justin Bieber. It’s confirmed as the fourth single taken from his highly-anticipated upcoming fourth studio album “#willpower” that’s scheduled for released on April 9th, 2013 via Interscope Records. The song was premiered on March 15th. The track is scheduled for release on digital retailers later this month.
The song tries to follow the style of his latest global hit “Scream & Shout” with pop princess Britney Spears. A song repetitive and tiresome, with a sound mix of autotune and electronic music, very blunt. A first listen leaves you a little cold, but after several repetitions, is winning. The part where Justin sings “Every second, minute, hour, bigger, better, stronger, power” reminds me of Daft Punk and their well-known “Bigger Faster Stronger” track. After hearing it, his magic formula is clear: “use a repetitive lyrics, add a poor electronic base and put a global star with autotune” It works! Are we facing another grower made by will.iam?
