Now, turning his fourth ace in as many releases, the young Berliner drops ‘Animatic’. Another beautifully judged, exactingly produced piece of studio work, it once ag…

John-00-Fleming-JOOF-Editions-2-500x500.jpg In April last year the first ‘JOOF Editions’ caused less a ripple, more a seismic swell to pass across the electronic music pond. It rubbished the standard mix-comp rubric and ported a DJ’s genuine in-club experience like few before it. Underscoring, no end the popularity of its mixer-in-chief, ‘JOOF Editions Vol. 1’ debuted at #2 on Beatport’s all-genres chart (landing between Avicii’s ‘True’ & Skrillex’s ‘Recess’) - a landmark achievement for a trenc…

youtube.com/watch?v=1_ooaNEmkwA Orkidea-Harmonia-500x500.jpg If there’s a term that captures to the nth degree the music of DJ, composer and master-producer Tapio ‘Orkidea’ Hakanen, it’s ‘retrofuturism’. Passing from simple terminology to his own personal genre playground, its past-meets-the-future melange is the driving ethic behind every piece of music he makes. It sees him inhabit a remarkable & singular position in electronic music. Remaining anchored to its underground, he nonetheless enjoy…

Alex-MORPH-feat-Natalie-Gioia-4Ever-500x500.jpg Over the last 2 years ‘Dreams’, ‘My Heaven’ and most recently ‘The Reason’ have each individually cast their floor-spells, capturing clubbing hearts & trance fans’ minds. Now, adding to their count, ‘4ever’ marks Alex’s ‘4-quel’ studio partnership with singer, songwriter and arguably now the German producer’s foremost vocal muse, Natalie Gioia. In news to further delight M.O.R.P.H.ers and M.O.R.P.H.ettes, ‘4ever’ not only follows-up the success of …

Another innately mixed, intensely built, 30+-track portfolio, it again defines, with clarion precision, the sonic mind of the Dutch producer/DJ. In and among its deeper byways and uplifting freeways you’ll find music from SvR contemporaries including Solarstone, Giuseppe Otta…

youtube.com/watch?v=5i4gFrAuOhw Paul-Miller-Oasis-500x500.jpg Truth be told, we never quite got to the bottom of what was behind the inscrutably fascinating title of Paul Miller’s last VANDIT outing. Having rocked up on floors at the end of last year with suitable vengeance, ‘Plick Plack’ must now be X-Filed in trance music’s titular mystery draw! The enigma is though now academic… Why? Well because there’s fresh Paul Miller production business to attend to! This time out the track’s designation…

John-OCallaghan-Deirdre-McLaughlin-Stay-With-Me-500x500.jpg You won’t find a more capable pair of studio hands for the vocals of Irish singers than John O’Callaghan’s. The last few years alone have seen the Gaelic tones of Kathryn Gallagher, Erica Curran, Karen Kelly and (perhaps most famously on ‘Big Skies’) Audrey Gallagher translate into a string of high-yield club anthems. With his first single of 2015, that arc extends a step further, as he welcomes another Irish songstress to the Subcultur…

Not dropping the pressure but for a minute, he’s been ba…

Jordan-Suckley-Pres-Damaged-Records-Vol.1-500x500.jpg In a touch under 25 releases and scarcely more than a year, the sound of Damaged Records has become next to synonymous with peak-time and the all-new calling card for Haaard! From their running start in Feb last year, it became Beatport’s #1 trance label debut for 2014 and is now one of BP’s 15 bestselling labels within the genre. Further, Damaged’s put radio playlists on notice, floors on lockdown and hatched - in the blink of an eye - a rad…

youtube.com/watch?v=TjBhptWSLzc soundcloud.com/vanditrecords/giddy-felicity It’s been a fair while (alright, too long!) since we’ve heard some profound sounds from the studio of Canada’s Giddy. The producer last left his mark on VANDIT’s burgeoning discography with ‘Halcyon’ - a track that garnered a host of big name DJ support and made short work of putting the spark into early 2014’s dance floors! Tangibly, ‘Felicity’ picks up right where ‘Halcyon’ left off. A track hooked on harmonics, up top…
