So here it is the Miami Buzz Chart 2011! And oh what fun it has been.
Started getting tracks in from January and at the cut off on Wed I had over 600 tracks and mixes to listen to all fighting for their place in this prestigious chart.
We had music from all over the World, from headline DJ's and their secret weapons to home studio producers and their latest creations, here you will find big label releases in there as well as plenty of unsigned tracks waiting for the phones and emails to go off the hook after the chart goes out and we wish them all well.
Although we call it the Miami Buzz it's not just about the 2 weeks of the W.M.C. and Ultra festival, we look for tracks that have that special element to take them into the summer season of Ibiza and beyond, again a mixture of underground instrumentals to crossover radio bombs, Miami may be the stomping ground for breaking new anthems but we try to look a little further.
Picking just 40 to make it is an impossible job, likewise working out an order in the chart, que sleepless nights and hourly re-arranging of the chart into what I would call a guide for music watch out for over the next few months
If I could, I would have made it a top 200 and there would be no chart positions, but life ain't easy and I have to say congratulations to the top 40 Buzzin tracks that made it into the shootout whatever position you are in the chart and also big props to those that didn't quite make the cut.
All I can say is that dance music fans are the real winners in this and it looks a fantastic year ahead with great productions, originality and passion bringing life back on to the dance floor for 2011.
Remember we still have the weekly Buzz chart in Update so make sure you check these out for all the other new music over the coming weeks that may not have made the 40 with such a strong competition.
