STEFANO NOFERINI vs MARLENA SHAW - Woman Of The Ghetto

Spinnin’ Records’ sister imprint, Spinnin’ Deep, has been one of the most influential curation points of the recent deep house explosion. With releases spanning tropical house to melodic house to UK garage, Spinnin’ Deep has seen almost as much success as its parent label in a much shorter time frame.

Tonight, on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show, the Dutch imprint will be previewing their latest smash, “Woman Of The Ghetto,” by Stefano Noferini. The Italian producer revives Marlena Shaw’s classic, returning to old school house vibes before the explosion of dance music in the US. Noferini revolves the character of the track around Shaw’s soulful vocals and the production = takes flight from there. Executing an array of jungle-inspired percussion and vintage basslines, Stefano Noferini leaves listeners wanting more after the minute and a half preview is up.

To hear the rest of “Woman Of The Ghetto” before its release on February 9, tune into Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show tonight.
